The CrossFit Quarterfinals 2026 are presented by Velites. This year we present this phase of the season as Official Apparel, Footwear, Grips and Jump Rope Partner of the CrossFit Games 2026. All four individual workouts bear our signature. It's the second consecutive season as an official partner, and the first in which we specifically present the Quarterfinals.
The CrossFit Quarterfinals 2026 take place from March 26 to 30. They are the next filter after the Open. This is no longer about finishing. It's about qualifying.
Here we present all the information you need to understand what's required: weights, exercises, and time standards for each WOD and category.
What the CrossFit Quarterfinals are
The Quarterfinals are the second phase of the CrossFit Games 2026 season. They are completed online from any box or training space, with video verification.
Athletes who qualified through the Open now compete against the rest of their region. The top athletes from each region advance to the in-person Semifinals, held between April and June. Four workouts. Five days to complete them. No second chance.
Who can participate in the Quarterfinals 2026
Access to the Quarterfinals comes from the Open. The top 25% of individual athletes worldwide advance from the Open to the Quarterfinals. There is no regional restriction. It's a global ranking cut.
In the 2026 edition this translated into the following concrete numbers by division:
Individual division 31,779 men and 26,490 women have qualified for the Quarterfinals.
If you finished the Open in the top 25% of your division, you're in the Quarterfinals. If not, the CrossFit competitive season ends here.
Who advances from Quarterfinals to Semifinals
The top 2,000 men and top 2,000 women of the individual division worldwide advance from Quarterfinals to Semifinals.
Those 2,000 athletes per gender have access both to the in-person Semifinals and to the Online Semifinal, which acts as a final qualification opportunity. The Semifinals are the final qualification phase for the CrossFit Games 2026. Each in-person event has its own eligibility requirements. Athletes must have competed in the Quarterfinals and finished within the cutline to be eligible.
For the Age Group divisions the cutlines are different. After the Quarterfinals, the top 400 Age Group athletes in divisions 35-54 and the top 300 in divisions 14-17 and 55+ advance to the Semifinals phase.
The in-person Semifinals are held between April and June. The Online Semifinal is held after all in-person events, so it effectively functions as the last filter toward the Games.
WOD 1 — Shuttle runs, overhead squats and burpees
Structure: For time, with a mandatory 1-minute rest at the halfway point.
Women: 36 kg on the bar / Men: 52 kg on the bar
Time cap: 12 minutes
Full workout:
10 shuttle runs of 50 feet (15.24 m) → 20 overhead squats → 30 lateral burpees over the bar → rest 1 minute → 30 lateral burpees over the bar → 20 overhead squats → 10 shuttle runs of 50 feet (15.24 m)
The clock does not stop during the rest. Final time includes the one-minute pause.
What this WOD demands
The structure is symmetrical but doesn't feel the same in both halves of the WOD. The shuttle runs in the first block are done with a fresh body. The ones in the last block come after 60 burpees and 40 overhead squats. At that point the first half has already taken its toll: if your grip or overhead position has deteriorated, you pay for it.
The overhead squat requires the hip to descend below the knees with the bar overhead, and to reach full extension of hips, knees and arms at the top. A rep that does not go below parallel or does not lock out at the top does not count.
The lateral burpees over the bar are completed with chest and thighs touching the floor at the bottom, and a jump over the bar at the top. Stepping over the bar is not allowed. Any repetition that does not meet both points is a no-rep.
The tiebreak is recorded upon completion of the first block of 30 burpees.
WOD 2 — Dumbbell hang squat cleans and bar muscle-ups
Structure: For time, in any order.
Women: 15 kg dumbbells / Men: 22.5 kg dumbbells
Time cap: 15 minutes
Full workout:
80 dumbbell hang squat cleans + 40 bar muscle-ups (in any order, any combination of reps)
What this WOD demands
You can start where you want, alternate movements when needed and cut sets as suits you. There is no mandatory order. That freedom is real, but it's a trap: you must keep making decisions while you're gasping from the effort. Without a perfectly mapped plan before starting, fatigue will make the decisions for you.
The dumbbell hang squat cleans start with the dumbbells hanging below the hips, arms extended. Each rep brings the dumbbells to the shoulders with elbows in front, and at the bottom the hip must pass below the knees. Without depth, it doesn't count.
The bar muscle-ups start from a hang with arms fully extended. You must pass through the dip before locking out at the top. If, during the kip, any part of the foot goes above the bar, it's a no-rep.
The dumbbells must be more than 1.5 meters from the bar at all times for safety.
The tiebreak is logged when you have 60 total repetitions, summing both movements in any combination.
WOD 3 — Double-unders and deadlifts with ascending load
Structure: For time, with three blocks of ascending load.
Women: 70 / 83 / 102 kg / Men: 102 / 125 / 143 kg
Time cap: 12 minutes
Full workout:
3 rounds: 50 double-unders + 10 deadlifts (load 1, the lightest),
2 rounds: 50 double-unders + 10 deadlifts (load 2),
1 round: 50 double-unders + 10 deadlifts (load 3, the heaviest)
What this WOD demands
The jump rope is not the warm-up nor the easy part. It's 50 double-unders between sets of deadlifts, with the bar increasingly loaded. After several rounds, coordinating the wrist and maintaining jump rhythm is harder than it seems.
The deadlift starts from the floor on each rep, without bounce. Sumo stance is not allowed: hands outside the knees. The repetition counts when hips and knees are fully extended and the head and shoulders are behind the bar.
For load changes between blocks you can rig multiple bars or receive help to load. It's one of the few moments in the workout where someone may assist you.
The tiebreak is recorded twice: upon finishing the third round (the last deadlift at load 1) and upon finishing the fifth round (the last deadlift at load 2).
WOD 4 — Row, clean and jerks, row and strict handstand push-ups
Structure: For time.
Women: 43 kg / Men: 61 kg
Time cap: 20 minutes
Full workout:
1,000 meters row → 30 clean and jerks → 1,000 meters row → 30 strict handstand push-ups
What this WOD demands
The longest WOD of the four. Also the most demanding in terms of pacing your effort. The first row is done at the start when your muscles are still fresh. The second comes with 30 clean and jerks already done. What remains after the second row are 30 strict handstand push-ups, no kipping, against the clock.
The clean and jerks start from the floor on each rep. Any clean style is allowed except the hang clean. The jerk may be a press, push press or split jerk. The rep counts if there is full extension of hips, knees and arms, feet in line and the bar over or behind the center of the body. The bar must be at least 1.5 meters from the rower.
The strict handstand push-ups do not allow kipping or any assistance from hips or legs. Hands must touch the marked tape line. The head must touch the floor on every rep. The rep is credited when returning to lockout with heels on the wall, arms and shoulders fully extended.
Only ergometers Rogue Echo or Concept2. No other models.
The tiebreak is recorded upon completing each 1,000-meter row. The last row completed is the official tiebreak.
The equipment that will help you in these Quarterfinals
Four workouts. Four distinct contexts. Each piece of your equipment has a specific role.
The grips are only allowed in WODs 1 and 2. In WOD 2 they are allowed on the bar muscle-ups, provided tape is not used on the bar at the same time. In WOD 1 there is no restriction, but there is no bar movement that requires them. The Quad Ultra are perfect for clean work. If the bar has chalk from previous sessions, the Quad Pro are for you. For mixed environments or if you regularly train in settings that combine with and without chalk, the All Terrain cover both contexts.
The jump rope features in WOD 3 for 300 double-unders distributed across deadlift blocks at maximum load. Velites jump ropes are present in these Quarterfinals as official equipment of the CrossFit Games 2026 and of course, our rope Fire 2.0 is the choice of most athletes to get through this cut
The weightlifting belt has its moment in WOD 3. Loads reach 102 kg for women and 143 kg for men in the final block, and you arrive there after two previous blocks of deadlifts and double-unders. The Velites weightlifting belt helps maintain intra-abdominal pressure when the body has already accumulated work. Our advice is to use it from the first block so you don't have to add it in the last one.
The shoes cover two distinct profiles depending on the workout. WOD 1 mixes shuttle runs with overhead squats: you need traction in direction changes and a stable base under the bar. The Hybrid 1.0 shoes by VELITES are designed for that type of mixed session. WOD 4 has a different profile: row, clean and jerks and handstand push-ups. Little lateral demand, high demand for a stable base and a shoe that doesn't get in the way against the wall. The Minimal 1.0 fit there perfectly: reduced construction, ground feel and no unnecessary volume on the foot.
The apparel has to work across all four workouts without you having to think about it. A 20-minute workout like WOD 4, or the quick transitions between rower, bar and wall, demand comfortable fabric that manages sweat without generating friction. The HOLO collection is designed exactly for that use: high-intensity training from start to finish.
