The Open 26.3 is now official. The announcement was made from Wodapalooza in Miami Beach, the definitive setting to close an Open season. Surely, like us, you followed the broadcast closely and now it's time to prepare for the final showdown.
To help you face this WOD, our athletes Álex Anasagasti and Sara Alicia have analyzed the workout and share their tactical tips so you can squeeze every rep..
Strategy tips (Álex Anasagasti & Sara Alicia)
As Álex and Sara told us, this 26.3 is the moment to apply everything learned over these three weeks. Based on history and the standard for this type of finals, they recommend:
Control your pace on the burpees: Don't rush the movement. Find a rhythm you can sustain and keep control of your breathing.
Try to stay in control: Use weight-change moments to reset, breathe, and stay calm.
Perform the cleans "Drop and go" : Find a "tempo" that keeps you moving without each rep stretching longer than necessary. Don't perform a clean taking more than 3-5 seconds.
The WOD is decided in the last 2 rounds. Sara tells us: "If you get there with energy, it's time to close your eyes and sprint to the finish".
However, what Álex encourages us is to do it in community: "Enjoy the WOD and do it with people: You'll suffer, but you'll have much more fun".

♀ 65, 75, 85 lb (29, 34, 38 kg)
♂ 95, 115, 135 lb (43, 52, 61 kg)
- Use the step-up (Step-up): Don't jump on the burpees; use the step-up and reserve leg strength for the thrusters.
- Cruise pace: Keep a steady speed on the burpees; the WOD is won or lost at the bar, not on the floor.
- Break sets early: Don't reach failure on the thrusters; sets of 6+6 will keep you oxygenated longer.
- Zero transitions: Finish the burpee and touch the bar immediately; don't waste time.
- Hook (Hook Grip): Use it from the first rep to avoid fatiguing the forearms before the final weight.
Where and when Open 26.3 was announced: Schedule and submission
The announcement of the third and final workout of the Open was made at Wodapalooza Miami Beach. The showdown was a spectacular "head-to-head-to-head" between three world-class elite athletes:
- Danielle Brandon: Athlete expert in skills and speed.
- Arielle Loewen: Consistency and mental strength.
- Olivia Kerstetter: The young CrossFit prospect who is already a reality.
Ranking:
Don't risk being left out due to a logistical problem. You have a few days to give it your all.
When to submit your Open 26.3 score
Don't leave your score to the last minute. You have until Monday to secure your position on the leaderboard ahead of the Quarterfinals.
Note: You can repeat the workout several times during the window, but only the last result submitted on the official platform will count.
